The former Shell Garage in
racing Team in 1955 as their workshop base for their Formula One racing cars.

Alongside the famous Aintree racecourse, home of the Grand National horserace, the Aintree car racing track was first used in 1954. It was three miles in length and very fast.
As a result it quickly rose to
prominence in the austerity of post-war
and Aintree was picked to host the British Grand Prix in 1955 - this turned out to be a memorable race as Stirling Moss took on and beat his Mercedes-Benz team mate Juan-Manuel Fangio,
